Early this morning and friend texted me. This in itself was odd, but with good reason. We grew up watching Dick Van Dyke, Carl Reiner, asked Mel Brooks, so getting older has meant gradually saying goodbye to our childhood idols, those that have made us laugh ourselves to tears, and many times felt as though they were playing TO us rather than at their audience. Not too many years ago we said goodbye to to Carl Reiner, a genius in comedy, needless to say something of a legend. Having read and listened to many of his books, one I was reading at the time, this hit rather hard. As time as gone on, now to the 100th birthday of the world treasured Dick Van Dyke, the outpouring for a man that generations love and have grown up with has simply been amazing. All of this said, this morning’s text was enough to anger me. Rob Reiner and his wife were stabbed to death in their home yesterday. There no simply our easier way to put it. Just wow. Rob Reiner was just as talented as his father and incredibly funny. Who could do such a horribly cruel thing, so brutal and ugly. It enrages me that there are people in this world with no morals what so ever. The guilty part must be found…damn you, whoever you are!
